Frequently Asked Questions: Preschool
🌟 Your Questions, Answered! 🌟
At FasTracKids, we understand that choosing the right early learning program for your child is a big decision. Whether you’re curious about our teaching methods, policies, or daily operations, this page is here to provide clear, detailed answers to the most commonly asked questions from parents like you.
Our goal is to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can learn, explore, and grow. From our disciplined approach to our drop-off and pick-up procedures, we want to ensure you feel confident and informed about your child’s experience at FasTracKids.
How do you handle discipline, such as hitting, biting, or pushing?
We follow a zero-tolerance policy for hitting and biting. If an incident occurs, parents of both children are contacted immediately, and the behavior is addressed promptly.
For minor aggression, the child is given a 1-2 minute break, during which the rule (e.g., “no pushing”) is clearly reiterated at the start and end of the break. Parents will always be informed if their child is placed on a break. Repeated instances may lead to further action as needed.
What does “gentle separation” mean?
We encourage independent learning while allowing for a gradual separation process. Parents or caregivers may stay with their child as long as necessary, but they play a passive role, minimizing interaction so teachers can engage the child and build a student-teacher bond.
What is independent participation?
Students are expected to fully participate in the program without their parents or caregivers. This fosters independence and helps them adjust to structured learning environments.
What if my child doesn’t want to participate on a given day?
At FasTracKids, children always have two positive choices:
- Actively participate in the activity.
- Observe and engage when they feel ready.
Both choices support the child’s comfort and development in a stress-free learning environment.
My child is not potty-trained. Do you change diapers?
No, but we provide a comfortable and accessible facility where parents or caregivers can change their child’s diaper as needed.
What if my child has allergies?
We maintain a strict nut-free policy and take great care in handling food allergies. Parents will have the opportunity to specify any allergies before the start of the school year or semester to ensure a safe and accommodating environment.
What is your drop-off and pick-up procedure?
Our carefully designed process ensures clear communication between teachers and parents:
- Parents sign in at drop-off.
- Students are released one by one at pick-up to the authorized adult specified on the sign-in sheet.
This system prioritizes safety and efficient transitions.
How clean is your facility?
We take great pride in maintaining an exceptionally clean environment:
- All toys, gym equipment, and surfaces are thoroughly sanitized daily.
- Classrooms are kept in pristine condition to ensure a healthy learning space for all students.
