Parents from all over NYC are contacting us at FasTracKids expressing concern over traditional education systems. Parents claim their children no longer have interest in communicating, having meaningful conversations, or reading. All they want to do is play with electronic gadgets and consume media. We’re here to emphasize that communication and parent teacher roles in the learning process are imperative.

The reality is that more and more parents and teachers are implementing digital and technological driven learning systems. Many of these are free. The problem with that is that free material is never customized to a child’s skill level and cannot be scaled up or down to match. Plus, there is no communication between teacher and student – the very thing we just emphasized is KEY to the learning process.

Group and team work is very important in our society and these flat-screen teaching methods are not helping improve team work skills. Children can benefit from learning independently, but to be a contributing member to society, our children must be capable of working and communicating with others.

When relying on online and screen education, the teacher as mentor and character builder is removed from the classroom. This is having detrimental effects to our students growth.

We here at FasTracKids are proud to provide a solution that combines technology AND the teacher in the learning process. Our smart boards give students the chance to explore learning via technology they understand – with a teacher present and guiding the whole time. The facilitator will also help to guide the discussions and ensure all students remain engaged. Additionally, the facilitator can provide extra guidance to students with advanced needs.
