Studies in child neurology show that the early years of a child’s life play a significant role in their brain development.
This means that what you teach your children when they are young, stays with them for life. Since the time they are little babies, children start picking up on different things that happen around them. But this is only one aspect of childhood learning and education. The bond that children share with their parents and other adults around them is the prime example of such education. And this is why it is must that parents or guardians pay special attention to the importance of early childhood education.
General Perceptions and Ideologies about Early Childhood Education
The problem is, most people are against the idea of children starting school in their early years. But as per research, children who go to some kind of preschool or head start program tend to be better at their studies than the ones who get enrolled directly in kindergarten. Their learning as well as understanding becomes far more superior to other kids their age.
Other studies also show that children who have been trained from an early time are more prone to learning and comprehending difficult concepts. Children who are educated from an early stage develop skills like better attention spans, enhanced social skills, lesser behavioral issues, decreased dependency on parents and increased independence. It holds true that children who are exposed to more languages during their childhood have a more open mindset and wider horizon in terms of knowledge.
In simple words, children who are educated and trained from an early age learn more and retain almost everything that is being taught to them. It is also seen through research that children who have some kind of disability also benefit tremendously with early education.
How Early Childhood Education Could Progress
The most important thing necessary to accept is that importance of early childhood education in no way stresses the fact that children be pushed into hardcore studies. It simply means that they should be guided in the right direction without any force or stress. So long as the children are able to learn in an environment of fun, play and ease, they are more likely to not only enjoy what they are being taught, but also remember it for life.
Also, the time period in which they are bound to learn should only take a few hours. There is no point in separating the child from their parents for long hours as that creates distress which in turn leads to ineffective learning or no learning at all.
Once all these factors are taken into consideration, child education is not only going to be beneficial, it will become something that children love. They will want to go to the pre-school and learn the new things taught everyday through games and interactive activities.
